Privacy Policy: My Golf Notes
Last updated: 2026-10-31
My Golf Notes ("the app") is published by WIBCI Labs. This policy explains what the app does with your information.
The short version
The app has no account and no server of ours. Your courses, games, notes, bag and scores are stored on your phone. We don't collect them, can't see them and don't sell or share them. The app has no ads and no analytics or tracking.
What stays on your device
Everything you enter: courses and hole notes, games and scores, buddies (including phone numbers, emails and addresses you add or pick from your contacts), swing notes, drills and your bag. It is stored in a database in the app's private storage. Uninstalling the app removes it.
If you use Backup, the app writes your data to a file and hands it to the share sheet; where it goes (Drive, email, a file manager) is your choice. Android may also back the app's data up to your Google account through Android Auto Backup, under your device's backup settings.
Contacts
If you choose to add a buddy from your contacts, the app reads the contact you select. The details are copied into the app's local database and are not sent anywhere.
Location
The app asks for location permission only to show your position on the map and to put nearby results first when you search for a place. Your position is not stored by us and is not tied to you.
Third-party services the app contacts
To work, the app makes requests to these services. Each receives only what is needed for the request, plus your IP address, as with any internet request:
- Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) for the weather forecast: the coordinates of the course.
- Geoapify (geoapify.com) for place suggestions as you type: the text you type, and your approximate position to rank nearby results.
- Map tiles and the Google Maps SDK (Google) to draw maps: the map area being viewed. See Google's privacy policy.
These services have their own privacy policies. We don't send them your notes, scores or contacts.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect any information from them.
Your choices
Because the data is on your device, you control it: edit or delete any entry in the app, or remove everything by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it. You can revoke location and contacts permissions at any time in Android settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date.
